Pastor Shawn Wood dreamed of planting a church with a simple goal- helping people find Freedom in Christ. With the help of the Dream Team, 80 people committed to seeing this dream become a reality, Freedom Church began on August 21, 2011. That Sunday over 400 people attended our first service at Whitesville Elementary School.

From the beginning, Freedom Church focused on reaching out to the non-churched community by building relationships through small groups. The life-giving message of the Gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday worship experiences, and the simple style of Freedom Church brought immediate growth. In its first year, the church grew to 350 people in weekly attendance, and 65 people committed their lives to Christ and were baptized. At the same time, the church helped plant 100 other churches and gave nearly a quarter of its income to missions.

Today over 1500 people attend the weekend worship experiences and God is at work at Freedom Church. We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple and people are free to go after God with passion!
